KAREN LANDRIGAN HAS BEEN SELECTED TO EXHIBIT HER PAINTINGS AT THE CONCEPTION CONTEMPORARY ART SHOW DALLAS, JANUARY 30TH 2016.
Award winning Houston artist Karen Landrigan has been selected to exhibit her paintings at the Conception Contemporary Art Show Dallas, January 30th 2016.
Conception is a dynamic, alternative presentation of contemporary art, featuring pioneering artists, collectives and galleries. With a strong focus on the emerging art market, Conception offers collectors the unique opportunity to purchase from cutting edge artists at the tipping point of their career.
Conception received excellent reviews in New York City; The Wall St Journal and ABC News attended the event and the popular Paper Magazine touted the lively creative exhibit as a ‘Must See Show’. The popular contemporary art show is having its 2nd exhibition in Dallas.
Landrigan will exhibit at the Texas Ale Project along with over 30 national and international artists. Guests will have the opportunity to both meet and greet the artists and to purchase art at the venue.
Newfoundland born Landrigan is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and she has been a designer, innovator, metalsmith and painter for the past 30 years. Three years ago Landrigan suffered a severe stroke and during her recovery she devoted herself almost exclusively to painting. Her first canvas drew rave reviews and subsequent works continue to startle and impress. Landrigan was a competitive swimmer and her present work focusses on ocean scenes.
“I love water, love to swim and have always felt at home in the ocean” Landrigan says, “And when I paint I see the ocean in a collaborative, intimate way.”
Landrigan has been a sensation since her paintings began appearing in public a year ago. Comments from viewers have consistently grown more effusive. Asked how it felt to be a phenomenon at this stage of her life, Landrigan remarked, “I didn’t think I could still blush. I was wrong.”
