In October 2016, Landrigan’ painting titled ‘Breathing’ was chosen by competition to be included in the Light, Space and Time Online Art Gallery. A limited number of works from nearly 500 submissions are selected by jury to be included in the online art gallery and Landrigan was excited by the possibilities.

“Exposure is essential and I am very grateful that the LSTOAG selected my work. It is a huge step forward for me again” said Landrigan.

Landrigan, an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists is an accomplished fine art painter who has been honored with numerous prestigious awards and accolades for her body of work that includes graphic design, figurative expressionistic paintings, seascapes, sterling silver jewelry, and whimsical drawings.

The multiple award winning artist has been working on a series of paintings under the umbrella title of ‘I’ve got Something to Say’. Landrigan dedicated herself to painting two years ago when a massive stroke nearly ended her life. Her art whose scenes often include the ocean and seashore are powerful and emotional acrylic paintings that touch on the feelings she experienced while struggling to survive her near fatal condition. Her artist’s note to ‘Breathing’ says it best… “Suffocated by fury, drowning in my recovery, I burst through the surface of the sea and in this moment I escape. I am free.”

Karen Landrigan lives and creates her art in Houston, Texas and has been a designer, innovator, metalsmith and an artist for more than 30 years.
