Houston Artist Karen Landrigan recognized again!

Houston artist Karen Landrigan was selected by jury to present her painting ‘Standing’ at the 7th Annual International Society of Acrylic Painters International Open Online Show as part of a permanent showing on the ISPA website.This is Landrigan’s sixth award or recognition this year and her online exposure has grown exponentially since she began showing her art two years ago.

The ISPA has supported professional acrylic painters since 1985 and exhibits some of the highest caliber acrylic artwork in the world. The present patrons of ISPA include Professor Brendan Neiland, R.A., who is Professor of Painting, University of Brighton; Dr. Sally A. Bulgin, editor of The Artist Magazine; The Master of the Fine Art Trade Guild; and Dr. Catherine Marcangeli.

Landrigan was thrilled by the selection. “ As a relatively new artist this level of recognition is amazing. I am so appreciative to have been selected.”

Born in Newfoundland Canada, Landrigan has lived and worked in Houston for fifteen years. She works from her home studio and only began painting seriously about two years ago.

“I had a bit of a health issue and I decided to concentrate on painting” said Landrigan, “ I have always designed things and I still make jewelry, but for now my world is a studio, a canvas and my brushes.”
